Nestled in the picturesque village of Keyston, The Pheasant is a beautifully restored thatched country pub where thoughtful hospitality, seasonal cooking and exceptional wines come together in the Northamptonshire and Cambridgeshire countryside.
Our menus celebrate modern British cooking, showcasing the very best seasonal ingredients with dishes that are both comforting and refined. Alongside the food, you'll find an extensive wine list curated by Broadway Cellars, carefully chosen to complement every occasion, whether you're joining us for a leisurely lunch, a special celebration or our much-loved weekly dining events.
The bar remains at the heart of The Pheasant, with cosy corners, roaring fires in the colder months, local ales on the pumps, carefully crafted cocktails and an inviting atmosphere that encourages guests to settle in and stay awhile. Beyond, our light-filled restaurant overlooks the gardens and surrounding countryside, offering a relaxed setting for everything from long lunches to evening dining.
When the weather allows, our south-facing garden is one of the area's hidden gems. Enjoy a glass of wine, a perfectly poured pint or something from our seasonal menus after exploring the surrounding countryside. Walking routes are available for those wishing to discover the local area, and well-behaved dogs are always welcome in the bar and garden.

All of the wines on our list are sourced from Broadway Cellars—our sister bar and wine shop—reflecting our shared passion for great wine. This close relationship allows us to offer a dynamic, thoughtfully curated selection, rooted in quality, character, and a genuine love of discovery.
The team at The Pheasant has carefully tasted and considered each wine to create a list that is both interesting and eclectic. Designed to complement our Seasonal British Cooking, it balances contemporary discoveries with a selection of classic favourites.
We currently offer 21 wines by the glass and nearly 100 by the bottle. Every wine has been personally selected by our team, ensuring a collection that caters to a wide range of tastes and occasions.
We are immensely proud of our knowledgeable and passionate team. Please don’t hesitate to ask for a recommendation—they will be delighted to guide you through the list, whether you’re discovering something new or returning to a favourite.

Our vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase and are available to buy online.
Our Garden
Our south-facing garden is one of The Pheasant's best-kept secrets. Thoughtfully landscaped and surrounded by the countryside, it offers a relaxed setting for everything from a leisurely lunch to an evening drink in the sunshine.
Whether you're joining us for lunch, dinner, a glass of wine or simply a pint after exploring the local footpaths, there's plenty of space to settle in.
Our full food menu, drinks list and bar snacks can all be enjoyed outdoors during our usual opening hours.
Patio tables are available to reserve. If you'd like to dine outside, simply mention this when booking online or let us know when making your reservation by phone, and we'll do our best to accommodate your request.
Our picnic tables are kept unreserved and available on a first come, first served basis, so you're always welcome to drop in for a spontaneous drink or bite to eat.

Booking Information
Restaurant Bookings
Running late? Please let us know. We will hold your table for up to 30 minutes after your reservation time.
Standard table reservations are allocated for 2 hours.
Bookings of up 9 Guests – Card details are required to secure your reservation. Any reductions in numbers, cancellations or no-shows within 24 hours of your reservation will be charged at £15 per person.
Bookings of 10–14 Guests – A non-refundable deposit of £15 per person is required.
Bookings of 15 or More Guests – A non-refundable deposit of £15 per person is required, along with a completed pre-order form returned no later than 48 hours before your reservation.
Event Menu Dining – Full prepayment is required, with completed pre-order forms returned no later than 7 days before your reservation.
Events
Event tickets must be paid for in advance, your ticket is not confirmed until payment has been made. Tickets cancelled less than one week before the event are non-refundable. Where possible, tickets cancelled within one week of the event may be transferred to a future event, subject to management's discretion. Any approved refunds will be issued to the original payment card used for the booking.
Private Hire
For any private hire event, a non-refundable deposit of the hire charge will be needed to guarantee the booking. We will require full payment of any food and prearranged beverage choices 1 month prior to the event.
